  • Compliance with legal obligations, including Gift Aid requirements and employment-related obligations
  • Legitimate activities carried out by a not-for-profit religious organisation in relation to its members, former members, and those who regularly engage with its activities

5. Sharing Your Personal Data

Your personal data will be treated as confidential.

Information may be shared with authorised church leaders, staff, or volunteers when necessary to support church ministries and activities, including children’s and youth work.

We will not share your personal data with organisations outside Wilmington Community Church without your consent, unless required by law.

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Examples include:

  • Event or youth activity data: for the duration of the activity and up to 12 months afterwards
  • Electoral Roll information: while it remains current
  • Gift Aid declarations and supporting records: for up to 6 years after the relevant tax year
  • Baptism, marriage, and funeral registers: permanently

You may request the removal of your personal data at any time, subject to any legal requirements for retention.
