Church Elders
I love being part of the leadership team at WCC. As Elders, we have the responsibility of guarding and guiding God’s church. It is a privilege to lead, seeking to listen to God’s heart for His people and for the world, and then turning that vision into a practical and workable plan.
Serving as an Elder is both a privilege and a responsibility that I am honoured to undertake. At Wilmington Community Church, love, acceptance, and transforming lives are at the heart of who we are.
My faith journey began in 1994 after the loss of my twin brother, Duncan. His death left me searching for answers about the meaning and purpose of life. A friend invited me to an Alpha Course, and that invitation changed everything. Through it, I came to know Jesus, and my life has never been the same.
Faith has been my anchor through every season, and as an Elder at WCC, I hope to encourage and support others as they discover their own faith and find lasting hope in Christ.
As one of the Elders, I see the importance of seeking God’s heart, discerning His direction for the church, and working alongside the leadership team to fulfil that vision.
My family and I joined WCC in 2010, and I became part of the Eldership team in 2017. My faith journey began in 1991, and I continue to have a deep hunger for God’s presence and insight.
Throughout my walk with Him, God has often led me beyond my comfort zone into situations that have challenged me, helped me grow, and kept me grounded in my faith.
Being an elder at WCC is a real privilege. Being invited to pray with, encourage, and walk alongside others on their faith journey is incredibly special and genuinely one of my favourite things. As an eldership team, we’re committed to meeting regularly to pray, listen, and discern together, seeking God’s wisdom, direction, and confirmation for our church family.
I came to Wilmington 26 years ago with my wife and son through a friend who was a member. We had always wanted to be part of a church in our local community and were attending one in Gravesend, but it became increasingly clear that it wasn’t right for us. Wilmington was much more what we were looking for. We visited, got involved in a few things, and stayed.
Soon after, our youngest son was born with severe difficulties due to a placental abruption, and we were discharged from hospital to a hospice. The family at Wilmington were fantastic in their love and support for us, and we are forever grateful.
Church Trustees
I love being part of the leadership team at WCC. As a pastor, I count it a real privilege to help guard, guide, and serve God’s church. One of the most rewarding aspects of leadership is seeking God’s heart for His people and the world around us, then working together to turn that vision into practical action. I’m passionate about seeing people grow in their faith, discover their God-given purpose, and become all that God has called them to be. It’s both a responsibility and a joy to help lead a church that seeks to make a lasting difference in our community and beyond.
I joined WCC in 2010 and was baptised here in 2019. Since then, the church has become a much-valued church family, and I have enjoyed volunteering and supporting the life and ministry of the church in a variety of ways.
Before retiring, I worked as an Occupational Therapist in social services for over 30 years, leading large teams of Occupational Therapists and Social Workers. I am grateful for the opportunity to use the skills and experience gained throughout my career to serve as a trustee, supporting the church and contributing to its ongoing mission and ministry.
I first came to WCC in 1967 as a young teenager. I joined the Girl Covenanter group and very soon became a Christian under the faithful witness of our leaders. I grew in faith through church and was a regular attender until I moved away to Wales for university. After a spell of teaching at a boarding school, I returned to Dartford and to WCC.
I have taught in Sunday school, youth groups, been involved in various community groups through the years, and now lead the Intercessors Prayer group, the 19.00 Community group, and co-lead the Ladies Fellowship.
WCC has taught me and given me so much over the years. Being a trustee enables me to give back to the fellowship through experience gaining through teaching and church life.
Shortly after joining WCC, I was invited to become a trustee with responsibility for the church buildings. I have always sought to serve others and felt that I could bring value to the role.
My faith is very important to me. I believe that salvation comes through faith rather than deeds, although serving our community through good works is also an important expression of that faith.
I have found WCC to be a place of spiritual freedom, with a wonderfully diverse congregation and excellent teaching that is willing to explore topics often avoided elsewhere.
You will also find a strong sense of community and family here, with meaningful friendships waiting to be made.
I joined Wilmington Community Church in early 2022 and quickly found a warm and welcoming church family, where faith, community, and serving others are at the heart of everything we do.
I serve as a Finance Trustee because I want to use my skills and experience to support the church’s mission and growth.
To me, WCC means family, belonging, faith, friendship, and growing together.
